11/07/2010Ana Claudia Talancón will be the face of Delphinus

• For the first occasion in Quintana Roo, a tourist attraction achieved an agreement with a personality of the stature of Ana Claudia Talancón to become its image.

• It is the combination of 2 Quintana Roo figures, one in the field of arts and the second in the area of tourism recreation with dolphins.

Next summer, Delphinus will be launching its new campaign but, for the first time for a corporation or organization from Quintana Roo, it will be linked to one of the most recognized faces of the cinema and television in our country; Ana Claudia Talancón, the Mexican actress, has accepted the invitation from the chain of dolphin aquariums to motivate domestic and foreign tourists to live the experience of swimming with dolphins in the turquoise waters of Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

Ana Claudia Talancón has starred in 2 of the projects of greatest impact of the contemporary Mexican cinema “El crimen del Padre Amaro” and “Arráncame la vida”, the former nominated for the Academy awards in 2002. She has ventured into Hollywood with “Sueño Americano” beside John Leguizamo, “Miradas ocultas” (Alone with her), “Llamada perdida” (One missed call) and the movie which is an adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ novel, “Amor en los Tiempos del Cólera” (Love in the Time of Cholera) with Javier Bardem. The first series co produced for Channel 11 “Soy tu fan” is being broadcasted presently and at the end of March she became an “Almodóvar Girl” when she starred in the theater version of the film ‘Todo sobre mi madre’ (1998), where she interprets the role played by Penélope Cruz.

Delphinus, on the other hand, is a socially responsible enterprise with 4 dolphinariums in strategically located natural areas in the Mexican Caribbean: Xcaret, the ecoarcheological park; Xel-Há, the aquatic park “ the biggest natural aquarium in the world”, Dreams hotel and resort located at the heart of Cancun’s hotel zone and Delphinus Riviera Maya, a dolphinarium located 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away from Playa del Carmen.

In 20 years of operation Delphinus has developed a solid breeding program of dolphins; 43 of the 72 elements making up the population of Tursiops truncatus dolphins, were born in the demarcated natural areas where they are located; additionally, its sustainable operation model drew the attention of some investors from Singapore who recruited it for the design and operation of a dolphinarium in Sentosa, a resort in southeast Asia which will compete with Dubai, events that were taken into account by Ana Claudia Talancón to say “yes ” to Delphinus.

Ana Claudia, who was born and grew up in Quintana Roo, mentioned her love and admiration for dolphins during the photo sessions, and related that during her childhood, she even went to swim on the sly with the cetaceans, when they were temporarily located in a place near to Ana Claudia’s home, while they were trained for what would become Xcaret park’s dolphinarium.
