18/06/2010Cancun Palace Resort Receives EarthCheck Certification

Palace Resorts has become the first hotel chain in the world to sign with EarthCheck, an Environmental Sustainability Program, and get the Certification for one of its properties, the Cancun Palace, which was notified on May 10th of this great achievement.

EarthCheck can be defined as a tourism certification process for the environment, which helps businesses better their quality standards, supervise the tourism industry, as well as measure and negotiate their operative efficiencies. At the end of the year, world leaders will gather in Cancun for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 16) and many will be staying at a Palace Resort property, using the group’s hotels as examples of efficient sustainable practices. Palace Resorts recognizes that the fastest way to reduce the carbon footprints is to reduce the quantity of resources utilized.
