The 2009 Mexican Soccer draft begins
For the third consecutive month, The Mexican Soccer Federation celebrates their “draft” in Cancun on June 15-19th. The event will take place at the Royal hotel in Cancún and expects the arrival of 1st and 2nd division teams, which like every year, will sign player contracts for the year 2009-2010. The President of the Mexican Soccer Federation, Justino Compean, as well as the General Secretary of the Mexican Soccer Federation, Decio de Maria Serrano, will be present at the event, along with coaches of the different Mexican soccer teams.

For Women Only Triathlon
On the morning of June 28th the shores of Playa Norte in Isla Mujeres will be the headquarters of the “Triathlon for Women Only” which will demonstrate the high athleticism of its participants in an event organized by parents of athletes and professionals committed to improving sports in Quintana Roo. The event will take place with the cooperation of the State Triathlon Association in conjunction with the municipal of Isla Mujeres and Sports and Recreation Direction of this location. Famous singer Ana Barbara, a special guest of the Honey Harvest ceremony in Meliponario of Xel-Ha
The Meliponario of Xel-Ha hosted the emotional ceremony of gratitude for the honey harvest, a ceremony attended by special guest, famous Mexican singer Ana Barbara. The Honey Harvest Ceremony of the “Xunaan Cab” or Melipona Bee is celebrated twice a year during the months of June and December on full moon days in Xel-Ha. A Mayan priest takes the stage of the Meliponario of Xel-Ha and presides over a ritual of thanking the Mayan deities for blessing their bees. The uniqueness of the melipona bee or Mayan bee is that it does not have a stinger and the honey it produces has a high medicinal and nutritional value. The work done by the Meliponario de Xel-Ha was recognized in 2007 by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy, who considered it to be one of the most socially responsible businesses.

Royal Resort in Cancun hosted the 11th annual Elizabeth Norman Sutton Golf Tournament raising $40,000.00 for charities throughout Cancun
The Playa Mujeres golf course was the site of the 11th annual Elizabeth Norman Sutton Golf Tournament an event that attracted some of golf’s most competitive players from Mexico, the United State, Canada, South Korea and for the first time, Colombia. All participants played to raise money for some of Cancun’s most needy charities. Among the recipients were Cancun’s General Hospital represented by Dr. Narciso Perez Bravo and the Grupo Desafio de Quintana Roo and their Cancer Prevention Program (Programa de Prevencion del Cancer) who celebrated their 10th Anniversary. The Playa Mujeres Golf Club provided the spectacular backdrop for this amazing event which took place June 8-10th. The tournament was inspired by Elizabeth Sutton, wide of Richard Sutton, one of the pioneers of the Royal Resorts group. In only a little over a decade, the tournament has donated a total of $340 million to different local institutions in Cancun.
