Bound for Mexico with the best offers.
According to Chris Gray Faust of the USA TODAY, tourists are returning to Mexico to take advantage of the incredible travel offers just days after the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) lifted its advisory against non-essential travel to the country. Fresh air, beaches and beautiful landscapes compete with sales over the quickly diminishing fears about the health scare. This is why the occupancy rate for Cancun’s hotel zone rose to 43% over Memorial Day weekend. “When it comes to things like the flu, I’m not frightened. I just wanted the fresh air,” said Diana Flores, who traded in her vacation to Palm Springs, California, for the sun and beaches of Cancun.

Endowed with 300,000 U.S. dollars, this tournament, exclusive for women golfers, is taking place with all proceeds benefiting the most unprotected people of Yucatan as a tribute to Norman Sutton, who lived in Cancun for 20 years and promoted support for the most vulnerable sectors. Located 20 minutes from Cancun, Playa Mujeres’ course includes 18 holes, 72 par, and contains a spectacular view to mangroves, the jungle, the Caribbean ocean, and the Chacmochuch lagoon.

A Mayan world supported by tourism
We Go Mexico and the non-governmental organization Kanche A.C., kick-off “voluntourism,” as a new alternative to sustaining the Mayan communities of the Yucatan Peninsula. This kind of tourism means traveling and getting to know the richness of Cancun and cooperating with local populations seeking the advantages and opportunities tourism offers. In addition, they will support wellness and education programs, create sources of income within the communities, allowing its inhabitants to remain in their communities and not abandon their place of origin and social traditions. Therefore they invite all organizations, businesses, and people interested in these types of projects, to work towards the wellness of the inhabitants of this region.
