Mexico D. F. February .-, After a public bid among various specialized marketing and public relations agencies, Olabuenaga Chemistri obtained the 2008 contract to manage the Cancun CVB Tourism Promotion Campaign in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Asia and Europe.

Among the agency plans are the development of innovative marketing, promotion and public relations strategies in the countries and regions mentioned above. It is important to highlight that this is a Mexican agency internationally recognized and member of “Publicis”, one of the four most important communication holdings worldwide, with presence in 109 countries.

“Olabuenaga will implement campaigns that reflect the wide range of activities and attractions offered by one of the main tourist destinations of the world, developing key messages about Cancun and positioning the identity of the brand worldwide”, said Arturo Escaip Manzur, CEO of the Bureau.

According to the Integral System of Migration Operations, from January to November 2007, Mexico registered over 11.5 millions of international visitors, out of which 2.7 millions chose Cancun as their final destination. With more than 190 international flights per day and an average of 3 million visitors per year, Cancun is the main entrance of international tourism to Mexico.

Ana María Olabuenaga, President of the agency, expressed: “The agency –renowned for its creativity -, will focus in finding the emotional links between the brand and its stakeholders, in order to successfully promote such a diverse international destination that is Cancun.”
